Head to one of these local bars this weekend, order up some bar food and even though we don't have our own team, try to have fun.

Starting today, Patch will run a new weekly feature called "The List," highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more.

You’ll find useful lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girls nights out, kids party places, parks and more.

It's that time of year again. Even if you hate football, Super Bowl Sunday is more than that - it's a time to socialize with friends, eat nachos and hopefully, check out a new bar or restaurant.

Here are 5 places to watch the Super Bowl this weekend:

Mo's Place at the Beach - Mo's in Playa del Rey during the regular season is the best spot around to watch Monday Night Football, so it's bound to be an awesome place for the Super Bowl. Mo regularly dresses in costume for the Monday Night Football game and past outfits have included an Egyptian King and Col. Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame. There are lots of televisions and plenty of room. Mo's also serves up some tasty bar food. We highly recommend the cheese sticks.

Tony P's Dockside Grill -- Tony P's in Marina del Rey is a sports junkies heaven. They've got jumbo-sized flat screen TVs, craft beers, cocktails and delicious food. If you're going the appetizers route, we have some suggestions. First, try the "No Bones About It," Buffalo-style chicken dish. It's a plate full of nice chunks of boneless chicken breast marinated in Tony P's special sauce. We got turned onto it by a Jets fan earlier this season. Good stuff. Our second recommendation is the artichoke spinach dip. You won't be disappointed.

90 West Lounge -- This little bar is tucked in a mini-mall in Del Rey and proudly declares itself Steelers Country. If you're a Pittsburgh fan and you want to cheer on the Steelers with fellow fans, this is the place to be. They're opening up at noon and will have the pre-game show on starting at 1 p.m. There's a barbecue and a potluck planned and the adoreable bartender said she's going to wear a homemade Steelers dress. Do not wear green, a hat made out of cheese or your Aaron Rodgers jersey and go here. Just don't.

The Whaler -- Question: Where else can you watch the sunset, the Venice Pier and the Super Bowl? Answer: Nowhere. There are upstairs and downstairs bars at The Whaler and enough flat screens to keep your eye on the big game. We know for a fact that they serve cold Budweiser in a bottle and Jameson neat. It's true. We also know that all the bartenders and waitresses are all super nice, every single one of them.

Playa Cantina -- Comfortable booths, margaritas, tasty tacos and lots of flat screens make the Playa Cantina a nice choice for watching the Super Bowl. They even have a private party room with your own flat screen if you want to go the VIP route. We watched the United States play in a World Cup soccer game shortly after it first opened and we can vouch that it's a good place to catch a game.
