Ballona Wetlands Opens to Public

Once a month, each second Saturday and Sunday, the Ballona Wetlands Freshwater Marsh is open for the public to tour.

The Ballona Wetlands sits on 600 acres and is home to a variety of wildlife, including several species of indigenous and migratory bird. On the second Saturday and Sunday of each month, the Friends of the Ballona Wetlands, an organization dedicated to education and restoration of the preserve, hosts a saltwater marsh tour. Visitors are free to roam the trails and ask questions of docents, who are positioned throughought the preserve.

In addition, freshwater marsh tours are given the fourth Saturday of each month.

See the attached document for a complete list of wetland tours.
