Free Safety Checks for Boats to Be Offered

The Coast Guard Auxiliary wants to help local residents stay safe.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering free boat safety checks in Marina del Rey.

The safety checks will help make sure boaters have the proper safety equipment and that it meets both state and federal regulations, according to Marina del Rey's United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 12-42.

For those boats who fail the safety checks, there will not be any citations issued.
