Playa Vista Farmers' Market

Why: The market will host The Living Christmas Company - a local company that provides a potted, living Christmas tree that is picked up and then kept for re-rental the next year. Persimmons also are in season and they'll be available at the Arnett Farms' stand. As usual, the Playa Vista Farmers' Market will have the freshest fruits, vegetables and flowers direct from the best local farmers California has to offer as well as other traditional market fare. Beach Cleanup

When: Saturday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Dockweiler State Beach. Tower 52.

The West Los Angeles/Malibu Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is holding a year-end volunteer appreciation party and beach cleanup at Dockweiler State Beach. Meet up at Tower 52 to enjoy the beach, play games, win prizes and participate in the final beach cleanup of the year.

Jazz Sunday at Brennan's Pub

When: Sunday, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: 4089 Lincoln Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292

Why: Check out the No Static Trio + at this bar that was recently named one of the best bars in the country by Esquire magazine.
