Why: Playa Vista Farmers' Market will be hosting its second nature walk in collaboration with Santa Monica Bay Restoration and Friends of Ballona Wetlands. The walk will leave the market at 9:30 a.m. and return at 11:30 a.m.. See the attached flyer for the walk route. Come early and ready for a cup of coffee, tea or fresh squeezed orange juice. The farmers' market also will have a full range of breakfast eats and lunch options when you get back from the hike. Also, heirloom tomatoes are in season along with peaches and nectarines. Why: This annual regatta on Santa Monica Bay is held to promote and encourge women to sail, race and take the helm. Women on Water (WOW) are all-female teams and Women at the Helm (WAH) are co-eds teams with a female skipper. It is conducted by the Association of Santa Monica Bay Yacht Clubs, South Bay Yacht Racing Club, Marina Venice YC, Pacific Mariners YC and other Westside sponsors.
Freshwater Marsh Interpretive Tour
When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
