Nothin' But Sand Beach Cleanup

When: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why: Heal the Bay and Ford invite you to Drive One 4 UR Beach.

Volunteers who take a test drive during the Nothin’ But Sand cleanups this summer will be automatically entered for a chance to win an all-new eco-friendly Ford. For every test drive completed, Ford will donate $50 to Heal the Bay to keep LA’s beaches clean. 

Test drives start at 9am. Cleanup starts at 10am.

Price: Parking for volunteers is $1.00.

Playa Vista Farmers' Market

When: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: 6400 Seabluff Dr, Playa Vista, CA 90094.

Why: Come out to the Playa Vista Farmers' Market. The market will be showcasing the freshest fruits, vegetables and flowers direct from the best local farmers California has to offer as well as other traditional market fare. This is a Certified Farmers' Market sponsored by Sprouts of Promise Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non-profit focused on the education of healthy eating habits.  Visit www.playavistaFM.com for more information.

Habitat Restoration Volunteer Days

When: Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Where: Ballona Wetlands, 303 Culver Blvd, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293.

Why: Come help the Friends of the Ballona Wetlands restore the last coastal wetland habitat in Los Angeles County. Volunteers get hands-on experience while learning about wetland ecology. The Friends provide gloves and tools. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Price: Free.

Freshwater Marsh Interpretive Tour

When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Where: , 303 Culver Blvd, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293.

Why: See a wonderful variety of birds, learn about native plants and how the freshwater system works. Great fun for anyone.

Price: Free. Must fill out and sign waiver form.

When: Saturday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: , 13755 Fiji Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.

Why: Listen to the soulful rock of Higher Ground at this free outdoor concert in Marina del Rey's Fisherman's Village. Parking is validated with purchase.

Price: Free.

Calling All Angels: Autumn Rae

When: Saturday, 3 p.m.

Where: , 4089 Lincoln Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.

Why: Come to Brennan's Pub for the special event charity, Calling All Angels, for a little girl, Autumn Rae, who was diagnosed with a rare, untreatable disease. There will be live entertainment, a silent auction, and amazing raffle items, and donations for Autumn.

Price: Admission is free.

Old Fashioned Days in Marina del Rey

When: Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Burton W. Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.

Why: Vintage yachts, antique classic cars, motorcyles, vintage steam engines and ship models visit the Marina in this annual event. Bring a camera for beautiful waterside shots.

Price: Free.

Stand up Paddleboard Fun Race

When: Sunday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Where: Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club, 13589 Mindanao Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.

Why: Almost 40 paddleboards blasted off at the sound of the horn during the first ever Marina del Rey Stand up paddleboard race started at Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club. The fun race  was comprised of beginners as well as experienced paddlers separated in to classes based on board length. The four classes paddled two different courses both within the marina on flat water. The yacht club was overwhelmed by the attendance and is holding another fun race. Fisherman's Village Weekend Concert

When: Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: , 13755 Fiji Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 (Plaza)

Why: Enjoy the jazz sounds of Bernie Meisinger in a pleasant outdoor setting at the marina.

Price: Free.

Jazz Sunday at Brennan's Pub

When: Sunday, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: 4089 Lincoln Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292

Why: Check out the No Static Trio + at this bar that was recently named one of the best bars in the country by Esquire magazine.
