Playa Vista Farmers' Market

When: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why: The market will have a special Thanksgiving theme with a live cooking demonstration at 11 a.m. to showcase ideas for Thanksgiving dinner. There will be arts and crafts for children throughout the day and a guided nature walk at 12:30 p.m. of nearby Ballona Creek. Come early for samples! As usual, the Playa Vista Farmers' Market will have the freshest fruits, vegetables and flowers direct from the best local farmers California has to offer as well as other traditional market fare. This is a Certified Farmers' Market sponsored by Sprouts of Promise Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non-profit focused on the education of healthy eating habits.  Visit www.playavistaFM.com for more information.

True Love Art Exhibit Reception

When: Saturday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: 4047 Lincoln Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.

Why: Art we love, about things we love, for people we love. That's the theme of the True Love exhibit running through Dec. 4 at The Happening Gallery. The artists' reception requires an RSVP, so get on the list by sending an email to info@TheHappeningGallery.com. If you can't make the reception, drop by during business hours to view the works by 17 U.S. and international artists, including gallery owner Natalie Gray.

Price: Free admission.

Holiday Shopping with the Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club

When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: 13589 Mindanao Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.

Why: Don't miss this fun holiday shopping event. Vendors with gift items ranging from clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, pottery, paintings, holiday decorations, stained glass, candles,, ceramic tiles, and so much more.  Shop til you drop with lots of food and live music by the fantastic Westside Band.

Price: Free admission.
