Help Out on Big Sunday Weekend

A variety of community service projects still have openings for volunteers in the area.

A huge effort to help spruce up Los Angeles and spread goodwill is planned for this weekend and it's not too late to join.

Round up your family, your neighbors or co-workers for Big Sunday Weekend. The annual community service event is in its 14th year.

The Playa del Rey Elementary School is looking for volunteers to beautify the school. If you would like to volunteer, click the link above and sign up or call 323-549-9944. Check this list for more projects throughout the Westside.

Deliver Meals With Meals on Wheels West

Help Paint and Garden at a Safe Place for Youth in Venice

Can't commit a chunk of your weekend to a project?

Head to University Synagogue at 11960 Sunset Blvd. in Brentwood from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's a collection site for new and gently-used clothing, adult and children’s books, DVDs, E-waste (computers, TVs, printers, etc) travel-size toiletries, cardboard boxes and packing tape.
