When: Friday, Dec. 30th all day and all night 

Where: Your house

Why: This Saturday is New Year's Eve, and you don't want to waste any energy on the night before the biggest night of the year, do you? Take it easy. Rent a movie. Kick back and save it for Saturday.

Price: Free

 

When: Saturday, Dec. 31st, 11:59 p.m.

Where: Fireworks will be shot off the south jetty and viewable throughout Marina del Rey.

Why: Marina del Rey has a long standing tradition of reigning in the New Year with fireworks. The annual 4th of July fireworks display was canceled this year due to budget constraints. The New Year's display has only been made possible because of the heartfelt spirit and generosity of local donors. So, don't miss it!

Cost: Free

 When: Saturday, Dec. 31st, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Where: 4100 Admiralty Way, Marina del Rey, CA

Why: Get a taste of sexy New York City in Marina del Rey for New Year's Eve. Glow Lounge at the Marriott Hotel will present special performances, an all-star line-up of DJ's, NYC style food carts and the infamous midnight ball-drop all wrapped up into one unforgettable night.

Cost: $30

When: Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012

Where: 404 Washington Blvd., Marina del Rey, CA 90292

Why: Pull up a stool and order a burger this New Year's Day at Islands, where there is sure to be your favorite football game playing and plenty of beer on tap.

Cost: Depends on how much football you watch.
