MDR Convention and Visitors Bureau Appoints New Director

Janet Zaldua will take over as executive director of the organization.

The Marina del Rey Convention and Visitors Bureau announced this week that it has appointed Janet Zaldua as the new executive director of the organization tasked with attracting both leisure and business travelers to the area.

Zaldua, who most recently served as the director of marketing and communications for the Pasadena Center Operating Company, will start her new position in Marina del Rey on July 17.

"I’m thrilled to join the Marina Del Rey Convention & Visitors Bureau, and I look forward to being a part of the community," Zaldua said in a release. "Marina del Rey is an incredible area with world-class assets that both leisure and business travelers can appreciate, including hotels and restaurants with breathtaking views of the waterfront and outdoor recreation."

The Marina del Rey Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official tourism promotion agency for the marina and also helps promote popular events such as the Fourth of July fireworks show and the Holiday Boat Parade.
