Former NBA Star Scottie Pippen Questioned in Malibu Fight: The multi-time All-Star known for his quick hands and feet on defense allegedly knocked someone out near Nobu in Malibu earlier this week. Pippen played with the Chicago Bulls 1987-1998, helping the team win six NBA titles. 

One Person Killed in Wrong-Way Car Crash: One person was killed Friday  morning in a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Santa Monica, authorities said.  All lanes of the westbound side of the freeway were closed in the vicinity of the collision and traffic was diverted at Bundy Drive, Kimball said.  The lanes were reopened shortly after 7 a.m.

Culver City Plastic Bag Ban Now in Effect: Culver City’s ban on plastic bags officially went into effectThursday. The ordinance does not only ban single use carryout plastic bags, but local retailers will charge customers 10 cents to use a paper bag. Culver City joins unincorporated Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Pasadena and Long Beach in the bans.

Venice Zipline Breaks Ground, Open July 8: Councilman Bill Rosendahl checked out the groundbreaking ceremony for Flightlinez. The attraction was slated to open on July 1, but the date was shifted to July 8 due to some adjustments being made to the zipline towers.
