Urn With Marina del Rey Label Washes Up in Hawaii

The sealed urn appears to carry the remains of a woman who died in Marina del Rey.

A Hawaiian woman who found a sealed urn bearing the name of a Marina del Rey woman on a Hawaii beach is now seeking the public's help in finding the woman's family.

The urn, discovered by a surfer on an Oahu beach in January, bears the name Betty Rhea Hilton Hauptman and a Marina del Rey address, KHON-TV  reported.

The woman who found the urn told the television station she has been unsuccessful in locating Hauptman's family and has gone public with her information to get the urn back to family or friends.

Patch attempted to reach the company listed on the urn but calls were not answered and a voicemail system was not set up at the listed number.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office told Patch that it did not have any cases or records for the name listed on the urn in 2012 or 2013.
