Summer Camp to Be Offered for Area Youth
Parents can set up appointments now to register their children for summer camp.
The school year will soon be winding down, and Venice Arts is one step ahead by offering parents the opportunity to make an appointment now to register their kids for summer camp.
Media arts as well as film animation, comics and photography classes will be offered as part of the summer program. The camp is designed for children ages 10 to 18, according to program and media coordinator Scott Oshima.
"We offer media arts, and it's great training for them," Oshima said.

Through the program, students are also exposed to learning how to use up to date software and computer programs, including Final Cut Pro and Adobe Suite, according to Oshima.
Students have the opportunity to participate in art education classes during the school year as well that can benefit them greatly in the future, organizers say.

"There are opportunities for college prep workshops and future internships as they advance and the longer they stay in our program," Oshima said.
While the summer camp costs $300 per week, it is free for low-income families who can show proof of income.
