Tripel Owner to Appear on MTV's 'House of Food' and Open New Restaurant in Playa del Rey

Brooke Williamson of Redondo Beach's Hudson House will train amateur chefs in MTV's new reality show, House of Food.

It's been a busy few months for Brooke Williamson, the owner of Redondo Beach's Hudson House and the Tripel in Playa Del Rey. Not only are she and her husband, Nick Roberts, opening a third restaurant called Playa Provisions in Playa Del Rey, she will also appear on MTV's new reality show House of Food.

According to The Wrap, "eight chefs with no culinary background in essence attend culinary school on-camera and live with one another" on the show.

Williamson, along with two other Los Angeles chefs, will give the budding chefs "training and guidance" as the contestants compete for an apprenticeship.

Williamson, of course, is no stranger to television—she came in second place on Top Chef: Seattle, losing in the final round.

"I think that shows like (House of Food) have actually made food more accessible to the home cook," she said at the Television Critics Association press tour earlier this month. "Perhaps, people think it's easier than it actually is, but inspires people in how they cook for their family in their home."
