It may only be June, but musicians of all types are sought for a Christmas concert in December.

The following is a press release from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission:

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission seeks County-based youth and adult community and professional choirs, music ensembles, folk and traditional artists and dance companies to perform in the 54th Annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration on December 24, 2013.

Interested artists are required to submit an electronic application, which is accessible via the Arts Commission website at holidaycelebration.org. Both the application and guidelines for applying are available online. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend the application workshop on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ford Theatres, 2580 Cahuenga Blvd. East, Hollywood, CA 90068. To register for the workshop, please email publicevents@arts.lacounty.gov or call (323) 856-5793 to R.S.V.P.

The Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration is a free public event that honors the spirit of many cultures and holiday traditions through music, song and dance. The event takes place every December 24 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at The Music Center in downtown Los Angeles. The stage production is also broadcast live on KCET.

The Arts Commission encourages all Los Angeles County-based performing groups representing diverse communities, traditions and performing disciplines to apply. All performing groups are paid. Proposed programming should be suitably themed for a multi-cultural holiday production.
