Free Marina Del Rey Summer Concerts Begin Thursday

The free Marina del Rey Summer Concert Series kicks off the 2013 season Thursday with a performance by the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony.
The free concerts, held throughout the remainder of the summer in Burton Chase Park, will feature a host of musical acts including performances by Grammy Award winners Billy Ocean and Poncho Sanchez.
The concert series runs each week until Aug. 31 with Thursdays featuring the symphony and Saturdays featuring a pop artist. Concerts run from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

- Thursday, July 11: Opera at the Shore
- Saturday, July 20: Billy Ocean
- Thursday, July 25: "American Influences" - Rusian Biryukov on Cello
- Saturday, Aug. 3: Taylor Dayne
- Thursday, Aug. 8: "Imaginary Places" - Roberto Cani on Violin
- Saturday, Aug. 17: Poncho Sanchez
- Thursday, Aug. 22: "Russian Reprise" - Rufus Choi on Piano
- Saturday, Aug. 31: Rose Royce
Burton Chase Park is located at 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey. Parking for concerts is available in county parking lots 4, 5 and 6 for a fee.
Both the Marina del Rey WaterBus and the Beach Shuttle will also run during concerts with stops at Burton Chase Park.
