Symphony Continues Free Marina del Rey Summer Concert Series Thursday

The Marina del Rey Summer Symphony performs Thursday beginning at 7 p.m.

The Marina del Rey Summer Symphony will continue the popular Marina del Rey Free Summer Concert Series Thursday evening with a performance entitled "American Influences."

The performance will feature Ruslan Biryukov on the cello and will feature pieces of music that were composed with American influences, organizers said.

Pieces will include Antonin Dvorak's Cello Concerto, Craig Safan's "The Last Starfighter," Leonard Bernstein's "Overture to 'West Side Story,'" and Ferde Grofe's "Grand Canyon Suite."

The concert, which begins at 7 p.m. in Burton Chace Park, is free and open to the public.

Burton Chase Park is located at 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey. Parking for concerts is available in county parking lots 4, 5 and 6 for a fee.

Both the Marina del Rey WaterBus and the Beach Shuttle will also run during concerts with stops at Burton Chase Park.
