7-Eleven Day Means Free Slurpees for All

The convenience store will celebrates its birthday Wednesday by giving away its signature frozen drinks for free.

7-Eleven Day is Wednesday, and that means one thing—free Slurpees for everyone!

The convenience store chain is celebrating its birthday as it does every year, by giving away one free 7.11-ounce Slurpee to each customer who asks anytime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The closest store for Marina del Rey residents is at 4010 Lincoln Boulevard at Washington Boulevard.

This year marks the 85th anniversary of the company and the 45th anniversary of the creation of the Slurpee itself.

“This year we expect to give away 7 million Slurpee drinks, more than ever before, beating last year’s offer by 2 million," said Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO, in a media release on the company's Web site.

The company has also created downloadable birthday attire—tiny bowties, hair bows and party hats—for folks who want to dress for the occasion.

If you've got your heart set on a free icy drink, don't wait too long to stop by; the offer is good only as long as supplies last.

I'm so glad you added that comment, and that I read the comments (since the headline says it hasRead More opened). I was all excited to walk up and try it tonight, which would have been a bummer. Looking forward to trying it.
