You may have heard about Patch parent company AOL's recent acquisition of The Huffington Post.
The deal cost $315 million and gave Huffpo co-founder Arianna Huffington the editor in chief seat of a newly-formed Huffington Post Media Group, which will include all Huffington Post and AOL content, including Patch, Engadget, TechCrunch, Moviefone, MapQuest, Black Voices, PopEater, AOL Music, AOL Latino, AutoBlog, StyleList, and more.
Huffington appeared on an episode of "Real Time With Bill Maher" Friday and discussed, among other things, local reach. Hear what she had to say about Patch at about the 4:35 mark.
"As we're losing trust at the national level — in our politicians, in our media — this is the opportunity to really spotlight what is working in this country," Huffington said.
