Marina Del Rey Hospital Receives Environmental Award

Minnesota company awards the hospital with "Environmental Excellence Award."

was recently awarded the "Environmental Excellence Award" from Sterilmed Incorporated, a Minnesota-based company specializing in recycling medical devices.

Marina Del Rey Hospital was recognized as a "Best Practice" facility for reducing its impact on the environment through the hospital's medical device recycling program.

Fred Hunter, president and chief executive officer of Marina Del Rey Hospital, said one of the hospital's goals has been to have a positive impact on the environment through its program.

“We are extremely proud to have received this honor and to be recognized as a leader in the health care community,” Hunter said.

Through the hospital's reprocessing program, which includes recycling medical devices, the hospital is able to help prevent these items from being sent to landfills.
