Marina del Rey Hospital Taps New CEO

Marina Del Rey Hospital has a new CEO.

The 145-acute care surgical hospital has named Sean Fowler, a 20-year hospital executive veteran, to succeed Fred Hunter in this role. The 46-year old Fowler took on his new role as CEO of Marina Del Rey Hospital on Monday, Feb. 10.

According to the chairman of the board, Thomas Wafer, this hire comes at an period of change for Marina Del Rey Hospital. Within the last decade, Marina Del Rey Hospital has focused on strategic investment and innovation, this new appointment encompasses the continued spirit of these efforts.  

Fowler previously served as CEO at Barstow Community Hospital and also held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Western Medical Center Santa Ana.

Fowler will be responsible for expanding hospital-wide enhancement and growth across all of the Marina Del Rey Hospital’s areas of excellence, including spine, orthopedics, bariatrics, and other surgical programs, according to a press release.
