Photos: Yummy Will Bring Full-Service Grocery to Silver Lake
Playa del Rey-based Yummy is opening a store in Silver Lake's Polka Dot Plaza. They're seeking your support with an online petition.
It's now known that Yummy, a grocery-business based in Playa del Rey, is taking over the space 3607 W. Sunset Boulevard adjacent to the Sunset Triangle Plaza.
Yummy Founder Barnaby Montgomery told us in an email recently that he's not sure exactly when the store will open.
But he did stress that it will be a full-service grocery store, not a food delivery business, at the approximately 6,500-square-foot space.

Montgomery hopes the petition will help City permitting agencies see that the commmunity values more fresh food options.
But, as mentioned in the Eastsider, he hasn't met any big obstacles yet.
According to Montgomery:
In addition to fresh produce and meat, we also carry a thoughtful selection of groceries in all of the categories that you’ll find at the chain supermarkets including packaged, gourmet and organic groceries, household and cleaning supplies, pet supplies, beer, wine, liquor, and fresh prepared salads and sandwiches.
Montgomery also provided this list of the top 10 products sold at Yummy:
1. Bananas
2. Avocados
3. Organic Valley Eggs (dzn)
4. Brawny Paper Towels (3pk)
5. Lemons
6. Broccoli Crowns
7. Arrowhead Water (case)
