Pier 1 Imports Will Open this Weekend at Marina Marketplace

The store will be part of Pier 1's new store concept.

Pier 1 Imports will officially open its doors for business on Saturday at Marina Marketplace, according to officials with the Fort Worth, Texas-based store.

Chrissy Madison, public relations coordinator at Pier 1 Imports, said the new location will offer local residents a chance to be introduced to the store's unique products.

"Marina del Rey is a very special place and so are its residents," Madison said. "As part of our ongoing expansion plans, we routinely review new and existing markets and identified Marina del Rey as a community that would mix well with our unique and one-of-a-kind product. We wanted to introduce our customers in Marina del Rey and the surrounding community to the eclectic and fun merchandise unique to Pier 1 Imports."

As part of the grand opening, the first 200 customers who visit the store between May 6 and May 12 will receive free giveaways, according to Madison.

The location will also be part of Pier 1's "new store concept" which features lit store shelves, rustic ceilings and "natural-colored floor tiles," Madison said.
