The Tripel Owners Buy Tower 42 in Playa Del Rey
Brooke Williamson of Top Chef fame and husband Nick Roberts purchase the struggling property.
Top Chef: Seattle runner up Brooke Williamson and husband Nick Roberts have purchased a new restaurant property just a few steps from their restaurant The Tripel in Playa del Rey, Eater L.A. reported on Friday.
The chef duo, who also own The Hudson House in Redondo Beach, purchased the property which was occupied by the closed Tower 42 restaurant.
A PR representative for the couple on Monday confirmed that the building had been purchased by Williamson and Roberts but said that at the moment, no concrete details have been finalized for the space.
In March, the day after finishing second on season 10 of Top Chef, Williamson told Patch that she was already putting plans into place to open a third restaurant either on the Westside or in the South Bay of Los Angeles.
"We are waiting on the perfect space and we have no intention of stopping now," Williamson said in March. "We definitely want to stay local to the Westside so we can maintain sort of our hands on approach to how we do things ... We have no desire to open a place that we are never at and not know our customers."
