Venice Boardwalk: After Dark
I began studying the idea of making a documentary about the night culture of the Venice Boardwalk 18 or so months ago, at the suggestion of my fiance Christine P. Miller.
It didn't take long before I realized there was more going on in any given hour after sunset than entirely in most other docs I'd ever seen.
A year's worth of fieldwork, having started principal photography, and countless interviews are all under my belt, at this point, and it's been a fascinating journey thus far. Thrilling, actually, and I mean in the fullest sense of the word.

There are a lot of changes going on with our neighbor to the north, some many MDR residents will approve of--even if their cost includes a human toll. Others, I imagine, will be outraged when all is said and done, because what we understand Venice Beach culture to be is being dealt a silent, lethal blow.
Venice Beach, as we know it, may soon be coming to an end.
Venice Boardwalk: After Dark is the working title. And I encourage any contributing thoughts as I continue the investigative and filming process. I would love to hear from you.
