An L.A. beer brewer is trying to raise money to fund the opening of a tasting room and brewery in either Marina del Rey or Playa del Rey.
Cosmic Ales produces five types of beer, ranging from “Cosmonaut” – a California blonde ale, to “Tulips On My Organ” – a Belgian ale and “Hell Hound Brown” – an American brown ale. Cosmic’s owner Christopher Briles is now looking to expand to a large brewing facility and is hoping to raise part of the money through a kickstarter campaign.
"The location is a prime spot with the movie studios within walking distance, Facebook and Youtube now moving in nearby, about 5000 new condos in the area not to mention Loyola Marymount University just up the hill," according to the kickstarter campaign.
Briles wants to raise $35,000 to fund the potential brewery – a small-scale operation that would brew under five barrels at a time.
