Chance of Showers, Pancake Breakfast and Open Houses in Marina del Rey

The National Weather Service says there's a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon.

Today is Sept. 10. It is the 253rd day of the year. We are under a waxing gibbous moon. Sunset will occur about 7:09 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 67 degrees. There's a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. and patchy fog is expected late tonight with an overnight low around 58 degrees. Forecasters expect patchy fog Sunday morning with gradual clearing and a mostly sunny afternoon with a high near 68 degrees.

2. The Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division held a pancake breakfast open house this morning for members of the community. Details right here.
