Cloudy, Lakers Lose, Susie the Survivor and Bloggers Wanted

Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the Los Angeles Lakers will have to mount a historic comeback or exit the playoffs in the second round.

Today is May 7. It is the 127th day of the year. We are under a waxing crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 7:43 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for partly sunny skies with a high near 63 degrees with a chance of drizzle tonight after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 54 degrees. There's a chance of drizzle and rain after 11 a.m. Sunday and it should be cloudy with a high near 63 degrees.

2. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers lost Friday night, 98-92, in Dallas and are 0-3 in their best-of-seven series and on the brink of elimination from the playoffs. The Lakers play Sunday in Dallas with a 12:30 p.m. tipoff.
