Cloudy Skies, Lakers Tonight and Campaign Financing
Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers host the New Orleans Hornets tonight in a playoff game.
Today is April 20. It is the 110th day of the year. We are under a waning gibbous moon. Sunset will occur about 7:30 p.m. Here are five things to know:
1. The National Weather Service forecast for today calls for partly sunny, partly cloudy skies with a high near 61 degrees with patchy fog and a chance of drizzle after 11 p.m. tonight and an overnight low of 54 degrees. It should be mostly cloudy Thursday with a high near 62 degrees.
2. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers host the New Orleans Hornets tonight in the second game of their best-of-seven series. The Lakers dropped the opening game Sunday and are looking to tie the series. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
3. The Department of Beaches and Harbor's Design Control Board meets today at 12:30 p.m. at Burton W. Chace Park in Marina del Rey. They will be considering a request for new signs for O' My Sole footwear at the Waterside Shopping Center and new awning for the store.
4. Recently released campaign finance reports from the Federal Election Commission show Janice Hahn leading Democrats in fundraising, while Craig Huey has the largest campaign warchest among Republicans. You can read about that right here.
