Crate & Barrel Picks Local Ad Agency

Playa del Rey company wins $10 million account.

Crate & Barrel picked TBWA/Chiat/Day in Play del Rey to run its national advertising campaign, the retailer confirmed today.

The company expects to spend about $10 million in advertising this year, compared to $3 million last year, according to Nielsen, a media tracking company. The company is hoping to attract younger buyers.

Chiat succeeds Phenomenon, Crate & Barrel's previous agency. Phenomenon will continue to handle advertising for CB2, a Crate & Barrel subsidiary.
