Doggie Spa and Adoption Day to Be Held in Marina del Rey

The new Spa Nautica at the Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey will host the event.

Treat both yourself and your dog to a spa day at the .

The new Spa Nautica at the Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey will be sponsoring a Doggie Day, along with Much Love Animal Rescue.

Spa Director Maritsa Victorian said the partnership was a natural fit.

"Marina del Rey is very animal friendly," Victorian said. "We're animal friendly, and we're trying to really become an integral part of the community, so I think it's just a great way to kind of get in there."

During the event, the spa, which opened three months ago, will offer free massages for dogs as well as special hour-long massages for dog owners at a discounted rate of $99.

Ten percent of all proceeds will benefit Much Love Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization that helps save animals from kills shelters and find homes for them.

Doggie bags will also be distributed, and there will be on site dog adoptions, according to Victorian.

The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.
