Electricity is Restored for Nearly 5,710 Customers

Power outage caused by "equipment failure," according to Southern California Edison officials.

Power was restored to thousands of customers in Marina del Rey and Venice who had been without electricity since Sunday night.

About 5,710 customers were without power due to the outage, according to Michelle Aguirre of Southern California Edison.

The outage was reported at 6:55 p.m. Sunday night and occurred "due to equipment failure," Aguirre said.

As of 10:06 a.m. on Monday, all of the customers except seven had their power restored, according to Aguirre.

The areas affected by the outage were between Via Marina and Via Dolce Avenue and between Admiralty Way and Culver Boulevard in Marina del Rey, Aguirre said.

In Venice, the areas that experienced outages included Oxford Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard, according to Aguirre.

The power to all remaining customers impacted by the outage is expected to be restored by 3:30 p.m. on Monday, according to Aguirre.
