Foggy Tonight, Lakers Play and The Makepeace Brothers

Patch caught up with two of the four founding members of local band The Makepeace Brothers.

Today is April 12. It is the 102nd day of the year. We are under a waxing gibbous moon. Sunset will occur about 7:24 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for tonight calls for patchy fog after 11 p.m. with an overnight low around 52 degrees. It should be cloudy through mid-morning Wednesday with a high near 63 degrees.

2. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers host the San Antonio Spurs tonight at Staples Center. The Spurs recently ended a six-game losing streak and have won four straight. The Lakers have lost five straight. This is the penultimate regular season game for the Lakers.

3. The suspect in an explosion outside the Chabad House synagogue in Santa Monica is in custody today in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. A rabbi said in a broadcast report that Ron Hirsch was spotted in a synagogue. Authorities
believe that Hirsch boarded a bus heading east on Thursday, the same day as the explosion. Santa Monica Patch has the latest right here.

4. Patch recently caught up with two of the four founding members of The Makepeace Brothers, a roots, world and folk music-inspired band based in the Venice and Marina del Rey area. Check out the highlights from the interview with Ciaran and Finian Makepeace right here.
