Free Beach Shuttle Kicks Off on Friday

Los Angeles County's free Beach Shuttle, which carries passengers from Playa Vista, around Marina del Rey and to the Washington Boulevard pier, will begin operating today.

The shuttle will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 29. It will also operate on holidays and selected Thursdays during the Marina del Rey summer concerts.

The shuttle's path begins at Playa Vista and takes a circuitous route that carries passengers to Fisherman's Village, Mothers Beach and the Washington Pier.

Shuttles run approximately every 30 minutes, except for a one-hour break between 3:15 and 4:15 p.m.

The Marina del Rey WaterBus will begin operating June 21, continuing its weekend service until Sept. 2.
