Marina Farms Market Remodeling Begins

A fire in March damaged the store extensively.

Workers began remodeling the market on Monday after a fire damaged the store in March. 

The store’s owner, Gil Bautista, recently received building permits from the City of Los Angeles, and expects the market to open in September, in conjunction with the reopening of his sister’s restaurant next door, Go-Veggie, according to local resident Frank Sanford who spoke to Bautista.

A , located at 5454 S. Centinela Ave., on March 13, and at the time six Los Angeles Fire Department engines responded to the blaze and extinguished it in about 30 minutes.

The market’s phone has been disconnected for some time, and attempts by Patch to contact the owner by visiting the site were unsuccessful.
