Popular L.A. Eateries Moving Into LAX

Top Chef winner's restaurant and Umami Burger are among the new tenants opening at the expanded Tom Bradley International Terminal.

A few of the Westside's favorite restaurants—Umami Burger, 800 Degrees and Chaya, to name a few—will all open in the spring in one... terminal.

Sixty new tenants, including 22 local restaurants and retailers, were selected by Australia-based real estate and mall developer Westfield Group to take up residence at the soon-to-open, expanded Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX.

Among the Los Angeles—based restaurants and cafes announced for the new terminal are eating spots by the chefs of "Too Hot Tamales" fame, Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, and "Top Chef" winner Michael Voltaggio, an 800 Degrees Pizzeria, Umami Burger and two sushi spots featuring fish air-shipped from Tokyo—Chaya and Lucky Fish by Sushi Roku.

Petrossian Caviar & Champagne Bar will sell luxury delicacies and fine wine; grab gourmet sandwiches, charcuterie and artisanal cheese from Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne's Larder at Tavern; and have a cup of coffee during the day or a glass of wine or beer in the evening at one of the first Starbucks Evenings in the country.

"We're investing in LAX because it isn't just a travel hub. It's the gateway to the Pacific Rim and a central driver of our regional economy," said Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who said he had long been embarrassed by the state of the old airport terminal.

Westfield and the new tenants are required under contract to invest $82 million to develop the new dining and retail program at the Tom Bradley Terminal. A $1.5 billion effort is underway to expand and modernize the 1980's-era terminal and to give the space a Los Angeles flavor.

Also moving into the terminal are luxury delicacies and fine wines from Petrossian Caviar & Champagne Bar; gourmet sandwiches, charcuterie and artisanal cheese from Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne's Larder at Tavern; wine and beer at one of the first Starbucks Evenings in the country.

Retailers will include Bvlgari, Emporio Armani, Coach and Victoria's Secret stores, and Hugo Boss, Fred Segal, Michael Kors and Kitson boutiques.

Thank Glenn E. Grab for taking the time to send an answer. I agree with you, it would be blue IRead More think. I would like to hear from someone who has the same problem, there are hundreds of boats with this spray. Now having said this, we have now come up with a more rational reason. It's the pollen, not bee pollen, but tree pollen. Makes sense as it does only happen once a year. Searching for answers, this makes a little better sense.
