Mostly Sunny, Lakers Play and Follow Us Socially

The National Weather Service says it should be mostly sunny this afternoon, but it should be foggy tonight and there's a chance of drizzle.

Today is April 5. It is the 95th day of the year. We are under a waxing crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 7:19 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of about 67 degrees, falling to around 63 degrees by 4 p.m. It should be increasingly cloudy with an overnight low around 55 degrees with patchy fog and a chance of drizzle after 11 p.m.

2. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers host the Utah Jazz tonight at Staples Center. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. Utah has lost eight straight games, including a loss Friday to the Lakers in Salt Lake City.

3. Did you just get married? Welcoming a new baby? Did your child make the honor roll? Say it proud and say it loud with a free announcement!  Just click right here to share it with everyone.

4. The reward offered to find the persons responsible for the beating of a San Francisco Giants fan at Dodger Stadium has grown to $50,000. The Los Angeles Dodgers have offered a $25,000 reward, matching the previous amounts offered by the Giants, Los Angeles County and from American Medical Response, the victim's employer.

Bryan Stow, a paramedic from the Santa Cruz area, was beaten in a parking lot of Dodger Stadium on Thursday following the season-opening game between the Giants and Dodgers. Stow was wearing Giants clothing. A sketch of the two suspects between 18 and 25 wearing Dodger clothing has been released by the Los Angeles Police Department. Anyone with information on the beating was asked to call LAPD detectives at (213) 847-4261.
