Mostly Sunny, Yacht Life and Blog for Patch

The National Weather Service forecast calls for patchy fog in the morning and highs in the low 70s through the Fourth of July.

Today is June 29. It is the 180th day of the year. We are under a waning crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 8:09 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 67 degrees with patchy fog after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 60 degrees. The forecast is pretty much the same through Independence Day with high temperatures in the low 70s.

2. A police helicopter and about  dozen officers responded to reports of a man behaving erratically in the Marina Peninsula last night, but the situation ended peacefully. Details here.

3. Patch contributor Charless Hackett delivers the second part of his first-person account of living on a yacht in Marina del Rey. Learn more about the double-edged sword of life in the marina right here.

4. Patch is looking for bloggers. We recently rolled out a new blogging platform and are looking for local bloggers to write about whatever they want, whenever they want. If you're interested or want to learn more, send me an email: Paul.Chavez@patch.com
