Observing 9/11 in Los Angeles

A list of some events to remember the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

9/11 is a tragic day that Americans will never forget. To honor the victims of 9/11 and remember their lives, L.A. firefighters will hold several public ceremonies.

7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Volunteer Opportunities.

L.A. Works 9/11 Day of Service1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center, 1700 North Stadium Way, Los Angeles. Join L.A. Works at the L.A. Fire Department's historic Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center, home to the largest 9/11 Memorial on the West Coast. Volunteers will be working side-by-side with the firemen to maintain the extensive grounds of the Training Center by weeding, landscaping and spreading mulch. To sign up, click here.

Volunteer with Veterans on 9/111 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Volunteers of America North Hollywood Apartments, North Hollywood. The facility provides transitional housing and support services to veterans and young women emancipated from the foster care system as well as offering affordable housing to seniors and families below market value to allow them to save money to purchase homes of their own.
