Partly Sunny, No Endorsement and Follow Us

The National Weather Service forecast calls for patchy fog between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m. and a mostly sunny afternoon today and tomorrow.

Today is April 3. It is the 93rd day of the year. We are under a new moon. Sunset will occur about 7:17 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for partly sunny skies with a high near 63 degrees with patchy fog expected after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 53 degrees. Forecasters predict patchy fog before 11 a.m. Monday, otherwise it should gradually become sunny with a high near 70 degrees.

Also, there's also a high risk of strong rip currents at all area beaches today.

2. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers are playing the Denver Nuggets right now at Staples Center. The Lakers are 17-1 since the All-Star break and the have a nine-game winning streak. The Nuggets have been hot, too, and are 14-4 in their most recent games.

3. The California Democratic Party held an endorsement caucus yesterday, but no candidate gained enough support to officially carry the party banner in the upcoming election to fill a vacant seat in Congress. You can read about that right here.

4. Looking to buy a home? Check out our weekly House Hunt feature that showcases open houses in the area. There are a few this afternoon.
