Four people were flung into the ocean near the Marina del Rey breakwater when a powerboat capsized, and two suffered minor injuries, sheriff's deputies said today.
The accident occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday, and lifeguards and harbor patrol officers directed the four to climb onto the rock jetty to avoid being smashed by the overturned boat, according to deputies at the sheriff's Marina station.
All four appeared to be OK, though two suffered minor injuries in the mishap, deputies said.
What caused the boat to overturn was not disclosed.
