Sunny Afternoons, 405 Opens and Rod's Day

The National Weather Services says we should expect sunny afternoons all week with highs in the 70s.

Today is July 18. It is the 199th day of the year. We are under a waning gibbous moon. Sunset will occur about 8:05 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for today calls for sunny skies with a high near 72 degrees with patchy fog after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 64. Forecasters expect patchy fog Tuesday morning that will gradually clear to sunny with a high near 74 degrees.

2. We survived "carmageddon." You can relive all the excitement by checking out our running blog and our wrap-up story is right here.

3. Rod's Day, an annual fundraiser to raise funds for colon cancer research, was held in Playa del Rey over the weekend. Learn more about how a father is keeping his son's memory alive right here.

4. Want to get all toned up? The Art of Pilates in Playa del Rey is offering up two private pilates session (a $150 value) for just $55. Check out the deal right here.
