Sunny Afternoons, Archstone Apartments and Beer Capital

The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies with high temperatures in the upper 60s this afternoon and Thursday afternoon, too.

Today is Aug. 24. It is the 236th day of the year. We are under a waning crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 7:31 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for sunny skies with a high near 67 degrees with patchy, dense fog after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 63 degrees. Forecasters expect dense fog Thursday morning that will gradually clear to sunny with an afternoon high near 69 degrees.

2. Colorado-based apartment investment company Archstone has bought the Villa Venetia apartment complex at the end of Fiji Way in Marina del Rey. It's now called the Archstone Breakwater at Marina del Rey. Details right here.
