Sunny Afternoons, Brennan's Date Auction and Blog for Patch

Brennan's Pub is holding a charity date auction tonight for One Love Generation, a non-profit organization empowering youth to inspire positive social change through art, service and awareness.

Today is July 20. It is the 201st day of the year. We are under a waning gibbous moon. Sunset will occur about 8:04 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for sunny skies with a high near 74 degrees with patchy fog after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 61 degrees. Forecasters expect patchy fog before 11 a.m. Thursday that will gradually clear to sunny with a high near 72 degrees.

2. The Venice Neighborhood Council is asking the county to hold development of a 114-unit senior housing complex in adjacent Marina del Rey due to concerns over environmental impacts. More details right here.

3. Looking for a date and want to contribute to a good cause? The One Love Date Auction is at Brennan's Pub tonight at 6:30 p.m. Women and men are on the auction block for a worthy cause. A $10 donation at the door benefits One Love Generation, a non-profit organization empowering youth to inspire positive social change through art, service and awareness.

4. Property crime continues to be the predominant theme for law enforcement in Marina del Rey. Check out the latest crime reports in our police blotter.

5. Patch is looking for bloggers. We recently rolled out a new blogging platform and are looking for local bloggers to write about whatever they want, whenever they want.
