Sunny Afternoons, Nominate a 'Person of the Year and Blog for Patch

The National Weather Service says it should be sunny this afternoon and tomorrow, too.

Today is Dec. 4. It is the 338th day of the year. We are under a waxing gibbous moon. Sunset will occur about 4:46 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for sunny skies with a high near 62 degrees with clear skies tonight and an overnight low around 47 degrees. Forecasters expect sunny skies Monday with a high near 62.

2. Marina del Rey Patch is looking for you nominations for 2011 "Person of the Year." If you know someone who made a difference in Del Rey, Marina del Rey or Playa del Rey in 2011, nominate them. Details are right here.

3. The 49th annual Marina del Rey holiday boat parade is Dec. 10. The boat parade will feature a "Christmas Carnivale" theme and Santa Claus will be the grand marshal. Details right here.
