Sunny Afternoons, Woman Shot and Old Fashioned Days

The National Weather Service forecasts calls for sunny afternoons this weekend.

Today is July 23. It is the 204th day of the year. We are under a third quarter moon. Sunset will occur about 8:03 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for sunny skies with a high near 71 degrees with patchy fog after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 61 degrees. Forecasters expect patchy fog Sunday morning with gradual clearing and a high near 72 degrees.

2. A robber shot a woman in the back in a Marina del Rey apartment complex garage after taking her purse. More details right here.

3. Old Fashioned Day is tomorrow in Burton W. Chace Park in Marina del Rey. The free event features vintage yachts, antique classic cars, motorcycles and vintage steam engines. It's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Details here.
