Sunny Skies, Cinco de Catalina, Gas Prices Rising

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 65 degrees with patchy fog tonight after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 51 degrees.

3. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers lost their fifth straight game last night, 120-106, to the Oklahoma City Thunder at Staples Center. It's the Lakers' longest losting streak since 2007.

4. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 19th consecutive day, increasing 1.9 cents to $4.163, the highest since Aug. 7, 2008. The average price is 8.8 cents higher than a week ago, 22.9 cents above what it was one month ago and $1.062 greater than it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
