Sunny Skies, Fisherman's Village Photos and Great White Shark

A young great white shark caught off the waters of Marina del Rey can be seen in a live Web cam during its stay at the Open Sea exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Today is Sept. 2. It is the 245th day of the year. We are under a waxing crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 7:20 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for sunny skies with a high near 76 degrees with patchy fog tonight after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 61 degrees.

A high surf advisory remains in effect until Sunday at 9 p.m. for south and southwest facing beaches due to a storm originating from New Zealand. There are also strong rip currents out there, so be careful.
