Sunny Skies, Fisherman's Village Photos and Great White Shark

Today is Sept. 2. It is the 245th day of the year. We are under a waxing crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 7:20 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for sunny skies with a high near 76 degrees with patchy fog tonight after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 61 degrees.

A high surf advisory remains in effect until Sunday at 9 p.m. for south and southwest facing beaches due to a storm originating from New Zealand. There are also strong rip currents out there, so be careful.

3. A young great white shark caught off the Marina del Rey breakwater has been transferred to the million-gallon Open Sea exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and can be watched online. Details right here.
