Sunny Skies, Molé Crawl and Marina Hotel Plans

The second and final installment of the Del Rey Molé Crawl is running today.

Today is Feb. 8. It is the 39th day of the year. We are under a waxing crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 5:32 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for today calls for a high temperature of 63 degrees this afternoon with wind gusts as high as 20 mph. It should be clear tonight with a low around 45 degrees. A wind advisory also will go into effect from 3 a.m. Wednesday until 3 p.m. the same day with winds of 35 mph or greater expected. Be careful driving.

2. The Del Rey Molé Crawl concludes with a second installment by food writer Jonathan Trachtman. You can read all about your molé choices right here.

3. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 93-84 last night on the road. The Lakers are 2-0 so far on their seven game road trip.

4. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today will consider approval of hotel renovation plans and a 39-year lease extension for a lessee in Marina del Rey. Check back here later for a story.
