Sunny Skies, Moms Council, Follow Us Socially
Patch is launching several new weekly features starting today, including a weekend tip-sheet called 'Get Out and Go.'
Today is Feb. 3. It is the 34th day of the year. We are under a new moon. Sunset will occur at 5:27 p.m. Here are five things to know:
1. The National Weather Service forecast for today calls for sunny skies this afternoon with a high near 63 degrees with mostly clear skies tonight and an overnight low of around 45 degrees.
2. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers (34-15) host the San Antonio Spurs (40-8) tonight at the Staples Center. The Spurs have the best record in the league and also have the best road record at 15-6.

4. We're creating a new Moms Council that we hope will range from the working mom to the stay-at-home mom to the stay-at-home dad to the PTA parents to the soccer moms. The Moms Council will use its motherly expertise to facilitate discussions about parenting and help guide parenting coverage for the site.
